Feature Content
- Performance
- Engine: Jaguar's engineers have tuned the supercharged 5.0L AJ-V8 Gen 111 R of the XKR up to an amazing 550 horsepower - that's 110 hp per liter - but what you will really feel when behind the wheel is the sensational kick from from 502 lb-ft of torque. That's as much horsepower as a Lamborghini Gallardo, and far more torque than any Ferrari, Lamborghini or Aston Martin!
- Exhaust: a new Performance active exhaust helps more than just performance, it gives the XKR-S a unique, rich soundtrack that will be music to the enthusiasts' ears.
-
Aerodynamics: Airflow management was the primary concern for Jaguar's aerodynamics given the top speed the XKR-S is capable of, and the cooling and intake needs of the engine. The end result of their work is aggressive, functional, and will set the XKR-S apart in the showroom:
- New front bumper: vertical features bracket the oval grill and cascade down to frame the new cardon fiber front splitter; broad vertical air vents on the sides of the the bumper help direct airflow around the tires, reducing turbulence; twin naelles before the leading edge of the hood are designed to reduce underhood temperature and air pressure.
- New rear diffuser: balancing the aerodynamic effect of the new front splitter, the new carbon fiber diffuser between the quad exhaust pipes is technology straight from the racetrack.
- New side sills: the new sills below the doors help manage airflow along and underneath the car.
-
Suspension: the XKR-S sits 10mm lower than a standard XKR, improving aerodynamics and handling. Unique dampers and tuning for the Adaptive Dynamics are designed to provide the highest levels of grip while maintaining the ride quality; revised spring rates andunique aluminum front suspension components help control the ride and reduce weight. The TracDSC system has also been re-calibrated to take advantage of the higher performance.
-
Interior: the interior shows where increased performance is complimented by refined craftsmanship
- There is no better example o what is means to do performance in a uniquely Jaguar way than the new Performance seat - think of it as a racing seat that has gone to finishing school. The Performance seat is aggressively bolstered to provide improved lateral support during cornering and features a fixed headrest like a true racing seat. But unlike a racing seat it is powered, 16-way adjustable - including the bolsters - and features heating as standard. It is also finished in soft-grain and unique carbon-effect leather, with modern and elegant micro-piping and stitching. Performance the Jaguar way, indeed!
- Jaguar owners are used to having their passengers stroke the seats or dash to feel the quality of the leather, but now they will be doing something new; reaching up. The XKR-S comes standard with a Jet black leather headliner made by Poltrona Frau, the Italian company world-famous for their custom leather furniture and the leather supplier to Ferrari.
- Interior Trim: the XKR- features a new and exclusive Dark Aluminum veneer finish, the premium floormats feature nubuck edging and unique XKR-S door sill tread plates are revealed when opening the doors. The "R-S" logo is also featured on the steering wheel and dash, and on interiors in the three exclusive XKR-S colour combinations it is also embossed on th headrests.
-
Exterior trim: the XKR-S comes standard with black trim for the grilles, window surrounds and the redesigned front quarter panels vents; as an option customers can select a Bright Pack if they prefer chrome trim (Bright Pack has late availability)
-
Wheels: the XKR-S features a new and exclusive wheel design, the 20" Vulcan, ina dark finish to compliment the trim. Customers who opt for the Bright Pack will have the 20" Vulcan in a polished finish.
